I've been wanting to watch this movie for a while now, and finally got my chance last night.
All I can say is: "Wow".
This movie is probably the most disturbing I've ever seen. It tells the tale of four drug addicts whose lives spiral hopelessly out of control as the movie rumbles on through its avant-garde visual style with an increasingly ominous (and appropriately trippy) backing score.
Watching the entire movie from start to finish without a break is akin to taping your eyelids open and having a series of camera flashes go off periodically, with their intensity and frequency increasing rapidly, until the final cascade of brutal endings burn themselves permanently onto your retina. So powerful and so grotesquely gripping are the twists and turns that when the film screeches to a halt, you find your expression is a contorted question-mark and your chest is heaving, lungs screaming for air.
If you think you can stomach it, watch it. To quote a friend:
This movie doesn't leave one's mind. Ever.

Oh yeah!! That ranks as one of the best movies I've seen in the last decade. The ball & c. and I just caught "Mrs. Henderson Presents" which is pretty awesome too; catch it if you get the chance.
Btw, that whole taping eyelids open with the camera flash thingy... yeah, I do that every 3 weeks with my opthalmologist. Joy.
